Betty White was an American actress and comedian. She is most well-known for two of the most memorable characters in sitcom history, Sue Ann Nivens on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” Rose Nylund on “The Golden Girls”. She was the first woman to produce a sitcom. She also became the first woman to receive the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host.
Betty Marion White was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on January 17, 1922. She holds the Guinness World Record as the longest ever for a female entertainer. Her breakthrough came relatively late in life, with her work on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” from 1973 to 1977, for which she won two of her Emmys. She passed away on 31 December 2021.
