Meat Loaf was born Marvin Lee Aday in Texas. He was noted for his powerful, wide-ranging voice and theatrical live shows. His album, Bat Out Of Hell, is one of the highest selling albums in history. He also received a Grammy Award for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for the song “I’d Do Anything for Love”. He also appeared in films like The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), and Fight Club (1999).
Meat Loaf was born in Dallas, Texas on September 27, 1947. After moving to Los Angeles, he formed his first band, Meat Loaf Soul. In 1972, Meat Loaf and a songwriter friend, Jim Steinman, released Bat Out of Hell which would change his career and life. It went on to become one of the best-selling albums in history. He followed it with two other sequels, Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell, and Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose. Meat Loaf died on January 20, 2022, at the age of 74.
