Widely recognized as one of the greatest catchers in baseball history, Lawrence Peter “Yogi” Berra
began his big league baseball career with the New York Yankees in 1946. He went on to become the second manager to lead the Yankees and the New York Mets to the World Series in both the American as well as National Leagues.
Being one of six players to win the American League Most Valuable Player Award three times, Berra was an 18-time All-Star and winner of 13 World Series championships, 10 as a player, three more as a coach or manager. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972.
