Momo, one of the protagonists, is not in favor of a war that robbed the humans of their culture. Her mother, though, repeatedly tries to explain to her that it is a kill, or be killed situation at this point.

Allegro wanted Fine to return to her position of the Vampire Queen and stop her debauchery tendencies. The elders may have been pressuring him to bring her back, but Allegro cared about Fine and spoke in her best interests.

Parents have to go to extreme lengths to secure the safety of their children, which sometimes includes destroying their only form of joy for the sake of upholding ideals in times of desperation.

Momo was tired of being at war and giving up on the simple joys of life. The argument with her mother, added to the frustration of killing vampires (even the ones who were children), made her run away from the only home she had, despite Mirena’s sound alarm.

Momo only had two choices when she was in the direct line of fire of a vampire and her mother had given permission to shoot: stay and see whether she survived, or take a hold of the hand that was offering to rescue her from all this madness. The choice was easy.

Fine had been shown to reside alone from the beginning, where Allegro would visit her occasionally. She refuses to drink blood, which is harmful to vampires and can make them lose their control, so she lives in isolation to keep them all safe.
