Muzan is disgusted by Akaza’s failure. Neither could he retrieve the Blue Lilies nor could he erase all the demon slayers in the area. Moreover, he allowed a human below the level of a Hashira to land a blow on him. Muzan while saying these words shows his limitless rage and disappointment.

Tanjiro had always helped Zenjitsu with a smile on his face. He always looked at the brighter side of things and kept his morale up. After Rengoku’s death, seeing Tanjiro depressed and sad had a massive effect on Zenitsu.

Senjuro is a fragile boy. He is not ready to take on the responsibilities of a Tsuguko. Since he didn’t want to be a swordsman, he was adamant to find a way to help others in any other manner.

Since Senjuro had decided not to become the tsuguko to his brother, that had brought an end to the line of the flame Hashira. Even though this was a sad thing, Senjuro knew that his brother wouldn’t force that upon him either and would’ve forgiven him for that decision.

As Tanjiro is leaving Rengoku’s residence, Senjuro gives him Rengoku’s Nichirin sword’s guard. He believes that it would protect him from adversities and that he was the right person to hold to something that important.

After Rengoku’s death, Tanjiro and his friends begin their intense training to become better Swordsmen. Even though the times were harsh and the training was tough, Tanjiro was happy to have his friends with him, to help him cope with his unsettling guilt and regret.

Shinjuro was a really tough father. He believed that Rengoku was worth nothing as he did not possess any natural talents for becoming a swordsman. Rengoku’s hardwork and determination didn’t matter to him. He thought that a worthless son like him deserved to die like this.

Tengen is a fun character. As he introduces himself to our Demon Slayer Trio, he straight puts them in their places by calling them trash and himself, a flashy God.

Tengen had lived a quiet life as a shinobi. After becoming the Sound Hashira, Tengen became a really flamboyant person who always loves to be the center of attention. Hence, he crowned himself as the God of Flashiness.

Zenitsu is flattered by all the lovely ladies in the entertainment district. Being himself, Zenitsu cannot maintain his composure and focus on the mission around so many stunning women.

Tengen is an intelligent warrior. As demons cannot survive the sunlight, he analyzed that a place like this district would be more than beneficial for residing a demon.

Zenitsu is more than jealous of Tengen. As Zenitsu never had any luck with women, he clearly is not interested in helping his senior Hashira find a bride for himself.

Zenitsu is not convinced by Tengen’s story of having his wives as spies in the entertainment district. He believes that Tengen just wants to have fun with his wives while they are on their mission.

Zenitsu is jealous of Tengen and is also angry with him. Zenitsu is jealous of the fact that Tengen has not only one but three women in his life when Zenitsu hasn’t even had the chance of talking to one.

Zenitsu cannot stand Tengen’s amazing looks and handsome physique. He cannot accept that he is in the presence of a man who is both skilled, good-looking and popular with the ladies.

Tengen believes that the demon residing in the Entertainment District could be an upper rank. If that was true then all three of his disciples and him could be in the midst of a fierce battle against a really powerful foe.

When up against the upper six, Daki, Tanjiro remembered all the pain and suffering that followed when he was too weak to save Rengoku. This time he wasn’t going to let it happen, he was stronger and ready to set his heart ablaze!

Tanjiro had seen enough. He was not going to watch idly as demons devoured his precious friends. He was not going to let them take away precious innocent lives for fun.

Tanjiro is an empathetic young man who had suffered the loss of countless loved ones. He was not going to let anyone else suffer the same way. He was ready to put his life on the line to protect his comrades.

Inosuke and Zenitsu have some of the funniest interactions in the series. When Zenitsu single handedly thunderclaps the demon that Inosuke had been struggling with, he compliments his friends ability in an amusing manner.

Uzui shows up in the flashiest way possible and easily ends the battle while saving everyone. Being the Sound Hashira, he lets all his comrades know that from this moment forth, all the battles will be commendable.

Daki is a strong Demon, so strong that she disposed of 7 Hashiras. When Daki gets the news from her belt that a Hashira has arrived to kill her, she is overjoyed to know that she has received a new, powerful target to kill and impress Muzan.

When Daki goes on a rampage and kills innocent people of the district, Tanjiro loses it. He remembers how easily his family was taken from him and vows to make Daki pay.

Daki is cruel. Human life holds no value to her and she would kill anyone she finds for fun. Even though this sounds as a motto she has, Daki has no morals and would kill anyone whom she thought of as loud or ugly.

Shinjuro had realised that it was wrong of him to treat Tanjiro the way he did. In a letter he apologises to him and thanks him for showing remorse for his son, who died in the line of duty.

Tanjiro is not strong enough to take on Daki alone. But that doesn’t make him quit the fight and run away. Tanjiro is a sincere boy who would do anything in his power to protect the innocent.

Tanjiro is enraged by Daki’s cruelty. Her bloodlust and zero regard for the dead pushes Tanjiro over the edge and infuriates him, leading him to fight an upper rank demon all by himself.

Daki had killed numerous innocent people in a moment. The lives lost due to her craving for fun and blood will never return. Tanjiro, knowing the pain of loss, tells Daki the severity of her reckless actions.

Humans are fragile compared to demons. Tanjiro questions Daki about her reason for torturing and killing them when they can’t even fight back. Why would the demons take on such beings that don’t bother them or can’t even put up a fight.

Tanjiro asks Daki to empathize with the humans she had killed. After all, she was once a human too, she had experienced her own struggles and suffering.

Daki had surely suffered great losses in her human life. When questioned by Tanjiro about her human life, she stated that now she is an all powerful and immortal demon who doesn’t remember anything about her previous life and its misery,

Daki believes herself to be an all powerful being who can do anything she wants. Daki is too proud of her beauty and strength. Too proud to understand the potential of Tanjiro as a swordsman.

Daki might be the strongest Demon that Tanjiro had ever faced. Even though Tanjiro had got past her belt and defense, he couldn’t finish her off as her speed and skills are far better.

When Tanjiro was rendered powerless due to the effects of Sun Breathing. He remembers the words of his little brother. The people who care about others often tend to forget about their own safety and well being.

Tanjiro always has his family on his mind. Especially in the times of dire need he always received words of motivation from his late family. Takeo asks Tanjiro to fight and help Nezuko or else she would lose herself.

Daki was infuriated after being bested by an unknown demon. She thought of Nezuko as a low class demon but was shocked to see Nezuko’s powers Exceeding her own.

Tanjiro believed himself to be responsible for Nezuko losing control on the battlefield. He apologized to Nezuko and again cursed his weakness as a swordsman which had forced Nezuko to fight such a strong foe on her own.

Tengen was amazed to see that Nezuko was such a strong demon. It was nothing he couldn’t control but was still impressed by her flashiness.

Tengen was not overwhelmed by Tanjiro’s inability to control Nezuko in her demon form. He amusingly questions how he could let this happen after assuring the Grand Master that Nezuko was harmless to humans.

Daki is still overconfident after getting a beatdown from Tanjiro and Nezuko. She believes Tengen coming to her was easing her job, not realising he had already beheaded her.

Tengen easily shuts down Daki’s menacing confidence by calling her weak. He doesn’t believe that she was the upper rank demon he was looking for as she was too weak for the title.

Tengen was embarrassed by Tanjiro’s inability to control Nezuko. He states that throwing tantrums like these on the battlefield was not acceptable. Anyone who strays from the battle does not belong on the battlefield

Tanjiro calmed Nezuko down by singing his mothers lullaby. Nezuko burst into tears and fell asleep immediately after remembering her mother and her sweet voice.

Tengen straight up embarrasses Daki. He beheads her and walks away asking her to die an unflashy death and not to cause any more trouble for the innocents.

Gyutaro had made a grand entrance with a menacing aura. He made it clear that he hated how Tengen and others bullied his sister and that he was going to give them the most painful deaths with his spinning blades of blood.

Gyutaro isn’t the best looking, infact, he looks hideous. When faced by Tengen’s charm and good looks, he is infuriated and jealous of him and decides to cut him up even more.

Gyutaro wanted tengen to suffer. Not just physically but also emotionally. He wanted him to suffer along with the humans he was trying to protect and scar his honor as a Demon Slayer.

Tengen is confident but not cocky. When he realises what Gyutaro and Daki were capable of together, he immediately collects himself and prepares for an even tougher battle.

Tengen wasn’t a man who had his life handed to him. He went through a lot as a shinobi and had to follow a path different from his father and fight against his values. When Gyutaro calls Tengen someone born with talent, The Sound Hashira states that he has his own bag of burdens.

Tengen wasn’t proud of himself. He did not think of himself as a great warrior but a failure who had let many innocents die. Tengen was not just a Flashy Hashira, but a man fighting with his own regrets.

Tengen was a remarkable man, but he did not think of himself as highly as Rengoku. He could not manifest the same spirit for protecting others.

Tengen did not share the same ideology as his father and younger brother. He did not think of his wives as tools and everyone else dispensable. Tengen was a man who cared for others

Master understood Tengen’s pain and suffering. He knew Tengen was always at war with the core values instilled in him as a Shinobi. For others Tengen was continuously battling with himself to reject what his father wanted him to become.

Tengen owed all he had to The Grand Master. He had his burdens and regrets but he did not want to drag them onto the battlefield. He believed that anyone who let their past hold them back, are cowards.

Tengen was all about Flashiness. He never submitted to Daki and Gyutaro’s threats and instead claimed that it was a sure victory for them. Tengen asks the Upper Six not to underestimate the Demon Slayers.

Daki has some cruel philosophies about life. For her, anyone who cannot fight back or make a mark on others should not be considered humans or even be allowed to live.

One should be willing to break the cycle of pain. Just because you had horrors in your past doesn’t mean that you have to inflict the same pain on others. Forgiving and helping others is the best retribution.

Daki was traumatized by her past and held a grudge against the humans. She was adamant on inflicting the pain she had suffered to everyone else who ever came across her.

Tanjiro was heavily injured and was no match against Gyutaro. But still he could evade the belt attacks from Daki and defend Tengen’s back

Tengen missed his family. He wanted to have a drink with his siblings and enjoy a normal life. Since that couldn’t happen, he promised them they would have a drink together in the afterlife.

Tengen Uzui was a man who was always ready to face any adversity. Tengen was ready to give his life up at any given moment, that too in a flashy way.

Tengen never forgot about his family. Even after he had left his homeland. Tengen wanted to live a life that made a difference. He wanted to live as a shinobi who actually cares for others and not just his missions.

Hinatsuru wanted a normal life with Tengen. She didn’t want her life to always be full of dangers and despair. She wanted to have a lovable future with Tengen.

Hinatsuru understood the dangers she had to face as the wife of a Hashira and was still ready to fight alongside Uzui. Even if they had to face death in battle. She wanted Tengen to know she would be happy to do it for him.

Tanjiro had been nothing more than a hindrance to Tengen during this battle. When Gyutaro gets a hold of Hinatsuru, Tanjiro forces himself to fight. He had been under protection for too long. It was high time he started protecting others.

Tanjiro was too tired to use Sun breathing, hence he blended two breathing styles to gain the necessary power and momentum. He had clearly absorbed Urokodaki san’s training into his bones. He was going to make this breathin style his own.

Inosuke was tired of just dodging and not being able to save his friends. He did not want to watch another one of their mentors die on the battlefield. He was filled with rage and wanted to see the results of their harsh training in the real battle.

Zenitsu and Inosuke were cleanly dodging all of Daki’s attacks. With Tanjiro’s help, Inosuke could focus on the attack while Zenitsu and Tanjiro defend him. The coordinated attack boosts up their confidence and helps them behead Daki.

Tanjiro felt responsible for the utter failure that had followed. Gyutaro stabbed Inosuke and Tengen lost to Gyutaro. Tanjiro believed it was his weaknesses that had again led to his friends dying in front of his eyes.

Nezuko was tired of hearing Tanjiro apologize. Tanjiro always blamed himself for every little failure he encountered. Nezuko wanted his brother to know he wasn’t alone.

Being human means being uncertain of all the outcomes. No one can be sure of the turns life takes the next moment. All they can do is work their hardest towards our goals.

Life would always bring you down. No matter how hard you try to evade failures and regrets they will keep coming back. What matters is how you deal with them and find happiness in the littlest of victories.

Gyutaro is a menace. He leaves no opportunity to rub Tanjiro’s failures in his face. Tanjiro was the only one who survived the mass attack by Gyutaro’s blade, and for Gyutaro that was more than disgraceful.

Gyutaro really looked down upon our beloved Demon Slayers. After believing that he had dealt with 3 of the lowlifes, he began disrespecting them all.

Gyutaro was a murdering menace, but still was a proud brother who always managed to protect his little sister. Gyutaro humiliated Tanjiro for being a worthless brother who couldn’t even protect his little sister.

Tanjiro carried a lot of burdens and one of them was his unending weakness. Gyutaro, being an upper rank demon, starts mocking his lack of strength.

Being a demon, Gyutaro still knows a lot about human nature. No one wants to show off their weak side by letting the tears flow. They just hold their screams inside and pretend to be strong.

Tanjiro outsmarts Gyutaro and stabs him with a wisteria poisoned Kunai. As Gyutaro stares at Tanjiro’s blade falling over his neck, Gyutaro curses Tanjiro’s unnerving resolve to end him.

When Daki screams after seeing her brother fall, Tanjiro sees himself in Gyutaro as a brother who was failing to protect his little sister. Tanjiro retrospects on his battles and understands that he very well could’ve been in Gyutaro’s shows.

Tanjiro had unbreakable faith in the Demon Slayer Corps. He knew that even if he had lost himself to demonic desires. Someone from the Corps would be kind enough to end his suffering

Zenitsu had unleashed his final move, the Godlike Speed. He could not let the one in a million chance that Tanjiro had created go to waste. Even if he would wind up dead, Zenitsu was ready to die to save his friends.

Tengen had recovered from Gyutaro’s poison and even without a hand, Tengen began deflecting all of Gyutaro’s Blood blades with his sound breathing.

Tanjiro was stabbed in the chin by Gyutaro and immediately the poison started kicking in. Even if Tanjiro was in excruciating pain, he knew he couldn’t back down. Being on the verge of death, Tanjiro summoned all his strength, even activating his Demon Slayer mark.

Gyutaro is a living threat. After humiliating Tanjiro and torturing him, Gyutaro states that he likes watching Tanjiro’s pathetic state, and he could help him by turning him into a demon.

Tanjiro is a really selfless young man. Tanjiro was more worried for his comrades’ safety than his own. When he sees Inosuke dying in his arms, Tanjiro curses himself to be the only one on his feet and wishes it was him instead of his friends, facing death.

Tanjiro knows how to empathize. He stops Gyutaro from lashing out at his sister in his final moments and tells them that they’re family and family needs to have each other’s back.

Gyutaro had a rough life. He was an ugly and poor kid living in a district where beauty was the most precious attribute. People kept on stoning and beating him, making him feel like he deserved all the abuse that existed in the world.

Gyutaro had to raise a little sister and survive in a district that thrived on beauty. He became a debt collector and terrorized his victims. He was no longer sad about his appearance, but took pride in the fear it struck in those who faced him.

Ume was the only one that Gyutaro had. When Ume was burned to death for stabbing a customer, Gyutaro was broken beyond belief. He cursed the world and all the supreme powers and vowed to kill them all if his sister were to be taken from him.

Not only did the employer kill Ume, she had also planned to kill Gyutaro along with her. When the Samurai tries to finish him off, Gyutaro states that he had survived a life that offered him nothing but a sister. As someone who had lived a lavish life, whining over an eyeball was disgraceful.

Even when Gyutaro was carrying his sister’s charred body through the district nobody offered him any help. No one wanted to associate themselves with an ungly young man. The world only gave these siblings suffering and agony.

Doma finds Gyutaro and his sister when they’re on the verge of death. Ironically he states how everyone values life while snacking on some human remains. Doma offers them a chance to become demons and make their lives better.

Gyutaro never knew true happiness. He was hated, starved and murdered by those who lived with full bellies. After he became a demon, he vowed to avenge himself by stealing the happiness from those who made him suffer.

Gyutaro had to survive, and make a living for his sister. Naturally, he taught her the same rules of survival that had helped him stay alive. He taught Ume to defend herself even if it means life or death. When someone threatens your existence, you take theirs away first.

Gyutaro only taught his sister what was necessary to survive and yet he thought he was responsible for Ume meeting a tragic fate. Had she been taught the right things, or been born in a richer household, she could’ve lived a happier life than the one she did following her brother

In death, Gyutaro had realized that he was not the right person for his sister. In order for her to reach heaven as Ume and not hell as Daki, he needed to let her go.

Even though Gyutaro had decided to walk away from Ume, she was not ready to let her precious Onii-Chan leave her behind. Ume chose to be with her big brother even if it meant following him to hell.

Ume wanted to be with her big brother no matter what the consequences were. She had survived all her life because of her big brother. She would not leave his side, even for a better afterlife.

Ume was Gyutaro’s entire world. She was the hope that helped him live even a miserable life. No matter the circumstances, Gyutaro and Ume faced all adversities together. Together, they could stand up to all the hardships that the world could throw at them.
