Gold is usually the primary reason that has led to many wars throughout history. It is a metal stained with the blood of innocents. The events of Money Heist were all for the sake of gold and this lead to the deaths of many.

The heist eventually led to the death of both Nairobi and Tokyo. They were casualties of the battle for gold, like so many before them.

A war has no ethics, no moral code or principles. Both the sides are stained with blood. If you are in a war, you have chosen violence and you cannot call yourself the good side.

While the crew had decided to not harm innocents, they caused the deaths of six soldiers and a hostage. The authorities had caused enough damage on the other side too. To believe there was a right side was foolish.

As the heist comes to a close, the Professor executes one his most ingenious checkmates ever. He reveals his secret plan that he’d laid down way before the heist began. Tamayo essentially had two choices: he either had to choose to accept the professor’s offer, take the fake gold and be a national hero or kill them, choose to give up the gold and watch the nation fall into bankruptcy.

All throughout the show, the Professor keeps saying that heists are his way of talking to his deceased father and brother. But towards the end of the show, when he faces off against Tamayo, Professor finally accepts his identity as a thief. He had been lying to himself all this while but now, he’s proud to be a thief and is finally owning his identity, no matter what anyone else thinks.

As the heist ends and the crew gather in the hangar, the Professor delivers a really heartfelt speech. They’d all gone through something extraordinary and the heist didn’t go exactly as they planned. They lost a few people but, in the end, they did achieve something.
