1 Learn to fear more -Hibiki
Fear may hold us back from taking risks, but there is a fine line between risks and recklessness. Hibiki warned Usagi that he must be more careful while jumping through stray bubbles.
2 I don’t fall -Hibiki
Makoto worried over Hibiki’s safety, because despite all his warnings, he himself took more risks than anyone else in their team. He trusted his ability to never falter during parkour.
3 The outside world is too suffocating for them – Shin
Shin explained how the orphans within the bubble had escaped into its confines in their run from the outside world. Supplies were scarce, and they were constantly risking their lives, but this life was better than whatever was beyond the bubble.
4 Why does the Little Mermaid save the prince, only to turn to bubbles?-Makoto
Makoto recites the tragic tale of The Little Mermaid (not the Disney one) to Uta, and wonders why the young girl sacrificed herself to save her prince.
5 It’s not that I want to hate sound. To be honest, I’ve been looking for it. For that sound -Hibiki
Hibiki was sensitive to the smallest of sounds ever since his childhood. He was the only one who could hear Uta’s music, and had been looking for its source even before he met her.
6 Makoto’s not some prize to be won -Kai
The group that went by the name of Undertakers had kidnapped Makoto in order to get more views on the videos they uploaded on the internet (kidnapping for views? Wonder what’s next). Kai, unable to hold his anger, finally voiced what had been going on in everyone’s mind.
7 The Little Mermaid’s sisters wanted her to return to the sea. You must return to the sea -Uta
The scene shows a parallel between The Little Mermaid’s Story and Uta, where just like the sea kept calling the mermaid back, the spiral refused to give up on Uta.
8 The person I always thought I was wasn’t really me-Hibiki
Hibiki realized that he was more than his over-sensitive ears and aloof attitude. Uta brought joy back into his life, the joy he had once known as a child.
9 Seriously! Who even raised you all? -Usagi
The young child does have a point, because walking towards danger is indeed reckless. But then again, as orphans, these kids raised each other alongside, or as they say, ‘no one raised them’.
10 With a blue blaze, we’ll burn everything!
This was the motto of the Blue Blazes parkour team, which they recited before every parkour game. It was significant this particular time because Hibiki participated in it (despite how lame it was, apparently).
11 Those days felt more important than anything. Even her own life -Uta
Uta remembered that the Little Mermaid too, eventually returned to the sea, and dissolved into bubbles. But it didn’t bother her much, because the time she had spent with the Prince had been more significant than anything else. Even more important than her entire existence.
12 Because I met you, I became me -Uta
Just like Hibiki had found himself again, Uta understood her purpose for this existence that she had been granted. His well-being and that last embrace more to her than her already receding continuity.
13 This is the human heart. A heart that can feel loss. A heart that is able to love -Uta
Humans are unique in the sense that they experience loss just as fiercely as they experience love. Despite being nothing more than an accumulation of bubbles, Uta knew that what she felt were the emotions of a human heart.
14 Someday, let’s meet again -Uta
It was the Big Bang that brought our atoms to where they are today, so one day, when our galaxies collide and everything recedes back into a spiral, it was Uta’s last heard wish to meet the atoms that made Hibiki again.
